The 10 Most Valuable Shohei Ohtani Cards
A look at the best Shohei Ohtani cards, including the one that topped one million dollars.
Shohei Ohtani is the best baseball player in the history of the game. The Japanese superstar is the first two-way player since Babe Ruth, and he’s doing it at an elite level on both the mound and in the batter’s box. After his success with the Los Angeles Angels, Ohtani moved across town to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The most valuable of all Shohei Ohtani cards came from his record-breaking 2024 season. Here’s a look at that card and the rest of the top 10 most valuable Shohei Ohtani cards.
1. 2024 Topps 50/50 Dynasty Black Shohei Ohtani Autographed Relic 1/1 PSA 9 Auto 9: $1.067 Million
To understand the significance of this card, you have to understand how historic Shohei Ohtani’s 2024 season was. In his first season with the Dodgers, Ohtani hit 54 home runs and stole 59 bases. Doing just one of those in a single season would be an impressive feat, but doing both at the same time? It’s never happened before.
Prior to Ohtani’s 2024 season, only five players had ever accomplished a 40+ home run and 40+ stolen base season: Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Alfonso Soriano, and Ronald Acuña Jr. A 40-HR/40-SB season was once the benchmark for an elite offensive player. Ohtani blew by that in 2024. Baseball fans love round numbers, and Ohtani breaking the 50-HR/50-SB mark in the same game was a huge achievement.
After his historic game, Topps secured Ohtani’s game-used pants and batting gloves. They created a special 50/50 set to honor Ohtani’s season and included pieces of the pants and batting gloves in three of the cards. This card, which sold for $1.067 million at Heritage Auctions in March 2025, was autographed by Ohtani and had the MLB logo from the pants he wore during his 50/50 game. It takes the top spot on this list of most valuable Shohei Ohtani cards.
2. 2018 Topps Finest Rookie Autograph Shohei Ohtani Signed in Kanji PSA 10: $585,600
This is Shohei Ohtani’s most expensive rookie card. He rarely signs his autograph in Kanji, the characters used in Japanese writing, so any Ohtani Kanji autograph is extremely valuable. The fact that this rookie card earned a flawless PSA 10 only adds to its value. It was sold at Goldin Auctions in September 2025 for $585,600.
3. 2018 Topps Transcendent ’52 Autographs Shohei Ohtani Superfractor 1/1 BGS 9.5 Auto 10: $542,900
Topps Transcendent is an ultra-premium product, and this sale reflects that. The card features the 1952 Topps Baseball design, Ohtani’s autograph, and the iconic Topps Superfractor pattern. It sold for $542,900 at Goldin Auctions in November 2025.
4. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Shohei Ohtani Orange /25 BGS 10 Auto 10 Black Label: $533,140

This specific copy earned a perfect 10 for the autograph and each of the areas considered during card grading: centering, corners, edges, and surface. It sold for $533,140 at Goldin Auctions in November 2024, just a few days after Ohtani won his first World Series.
5. 2025 Topps Sterling Nameplates Shohei Ohtani Bat Barrel Patch & Kanji Autograph 1/1: $336,000

6. 2018 Topps Chrome Sapphire Rookie Autograph Shohei Ohtani Superfractor 1/1: BGS 9.5 Auto 10: $336,000

Both were sold at Goldin Auctions. However, it is the most recent sale of $336,000 at Sotheby’s in November 2024 that puts the card on this list.
7. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Shohei Ohtani Red /5 PSA 9 Auto 10: $312,000
This Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph captures Ohtani on the mound, while the other two on this list show him in the batter’s box. This Red version is limited to just five copies and received a grade of a PSA 9 Auto 10. It sold for $312,000 at PWCC in October 2021.

9. 2024 Topps Now Shohei Ohtani 50/50 Club Inscribed Autograph Gold 1/1 PSA 10: $225,700
While not as valuable as the other 50/50 card on this list, this 1/1 autograph was randomly inserted in one collector’s lucky order of 2024 Topps Now base cards that sold for just $11.99 each. Along with his autograph, Ohtani also wrote “50/50 Club 9/19/24.” The card received a perfect PSA 10 grade and sold for $225,700 at Heritage Auctions in February 2025.
10. 2018 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autograph Shohei Ohtani Gold /50 PSA 10 Auto 10: $204,000
