Sports card sales continued to surge in 2025! A basketball card set a record-breaking sale price, and a variety of sports also gained in popularity. Here’s a look at the 15 most expensive sports cards sold in 2025.
2025’s Most Expensive Sports Cards Include This Record-Breaking Card
1. 2007 Upper Deck Exquisite Kobe Bryant/Michael Jordan Dual Logoman Autograph 1/1 PSA 6: $12.9 Million
Entering 2025, Mickey Mantle’s 1952 Topps card held the record for the most expensive sports card all-time. As the calendar turns to 2026, it no longer holds the top spot on the list of most expensive sports cards. The new record belongs to this 1/1 Dual Logoman Autograph of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Graded a PSA 6, the card sold for $12.9 million at Heritage Auctions in August 2025.

There are 10 other publicly reported sales of sports cards that sold for at least seven figures in 2025. These include three vintage Babe Ruth cards, another Dual Logoman, and some all-time greats.
2. 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth Rookie SGC 3: $4.02 Million
This Babe Ruth rookie card takes the #2 spot on the most expensive sports cards sold in 2025. Only 10 of these cards have ever been graded, making it rarer than the T206 Honus Wagner card. This copy, which sold for $4.02 million at Heritage Auctions in October 2025, is the second-highest graded copy of Ruth’s rookie card.
3. 2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant Dual Logoman 1/1 PSA 6: $3.17 Million
Dual Logoman cards are some of the most popular sports cards. Even without an autograph, this Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant card sold for $3.17 million at Heritage Auctions in December 2025. Above the patches are the 2003-04 Exquisite Collection set, Upper Deck’s debut edition of the high-end Exquisite Collection release, and “All NBA Access Pass.”
4. 2025 Topps Chrome Shohei Ohtani MVP Award Gold MLB Logoman Patch Autograph 1/1: $3 Million (Fanatics Collect)
Shohei Ohtani’s record-breaking 50/50 season inspired a special Topps set and boosted his card prices even higher. The MLB logo patch included in this card is one of the special gold patches worn by the previous season’s MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year Award winners. This 1/1 card also includes Ohtani’s autograph. It sold for $3 million at Fanatics Collect in December 2025.
5. 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 PSA 9 Auto 10: $2.5 Million
What’s better than a Michael Jordan rookie card? An autographed Michael Jordan rookie card! This card received a PSA 9, and the autograph, signed in blue ink, received a perfect 10 grade. Sold for $2.5 million in June 2025, this was the first sports card auctioned by Pharrell’s auction house, Joopiter.
6. 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 PSA 8: $1.55 Million
Mickey Mantle’s most iconic card is consistently among some of the most expensive sports cards ever sold. This copy, sold for $1.55 million at Heritage Auctions in December 2025, is graded a PSA 8. There are a total of 35 copies graded a PSA 8, and just 16 total copies in higher grades.
7. 2004 Panini Mega Cracks Lionel Messi #71 PSA 10: $1.5 Million
A private sale in August 2025 made Lionel Messi’s Mega Cracks rookie card the most valuable soccer card of all time. Graded a PSA 10, there are only 20 copies in existence. The previous record for a soccer card was the 1958 Alifabolaget Pele PSA 9, which sold for $1.33 million in 2022.
8. 1916 Herpolsheimer Co. Babe Ruth Rookie #151 PSA NM 7: $1.4 Million
This card is a rarer version of the Sporting News copy, which sold earlier in 2025. It was produced two years after Babe Ruth’s 1914 rookie card and commanded $1.4 million at Heritage Auctions in August 2025. The back of the card features the Herpolsheimer Co., the name of the Boy’s Fashion Shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
9. 1916 M101-4 Sporting News Babe Ruth Blank Back Rookie #151 PSA NM 7: $1.37 Million
Although not as rare as the Herpolsheimer copy, this Sporting News Babe Ruth card is also exceptional. More than a century old, this card earned a PSA 7 near-mint grade. This blank back copy sold for $1.37 million at Heritage Auctions in February 2025.
10. 2024 Topps Chrome Update Paul Skenes MLB Debut Patch Autograph 1/1: $1.11 Million
Since Topps introduced the MLB Debut Patch Autographs in 2023, they have become some of the most sought-after baseball cards. After Paul Skenes’ fantastic rookie season and the Pirates’ offer to trade 30 years of season tickets in exchange for the card, collectors around the world started ripping packs in search of the card. A lucky 11-year-old pulled the card on Christmas morning, turned down the Pirates’ offer, and decided to auction the card at Fanatics Collect. It sold for $1.11 million in March 2025.
11. 2024 Topps 50/50 Shohei Ohtani Black Dynasty Relic Autograph 1/1 PSA 9: $1.06 Million
This card features the MLB logo patch from the pants Ohtani wore during his record-breaking 50/50 game, along with an autograph signed in gold ink. The card came from the special 2024 Topps 50/50 set that commemorated Ohtani’s historic season. The card sold for $1.06 million at Heritage Auctions in March 2025.

12. 2024 Panini Prizm Jayden Daniels #347 Black Finite 1/1 BGS 9.5: $500,000
This Jayden Daniels rookie card is the only football card on the list of the most expensive sports cards in 2025. Daniels was the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft and one of the top football rookies to collect this year. The Washington Commanders owner bought his quarterback’s card for $500,000 at Fanatics Fest in June 2025.
13. 2024 Topps Chrome UEFA Euro Autograph Lamine Yamal #CA-LY Superfractor 1/1 PSA 10 Auto 10: $396,500
Lamine Yamal is one of the hottest players in soccer, and his Superfractor autograph from his National Debut was the second-highest-selling soccer card in 2025. Both the card and autograph received flawless PSA 10 grades. This card sold for $396,500 at Goldin Auctions in June 2025.
14. 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Signatures Caitlin Clark Gold Vinyl Prizm 1/1 PSA 10 Auto 10: $366,000
The WNBA’s rise in popularity is thanks to Caitlin Clark. She set numerous college basketball records during her time at Iowa before being selected first overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA draft. This 1/1 rookie autographed, graded a perfect PSA 10 Auto 10, sold for $366,000 at Goldin Auctions in March 2025.
15. 2015 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Connor McDavid NHL Shield Rookie Autograph #109 Teal 1/1 PSA Authentic: $305,000
Rounding out the list of 2025’s most expensive sports cards is this Connor McDavid rookie autograph. The card also includes an NHL Shield, the hockey equivalent of a Logoman. Authenticated by PSA, this card sold for $305,000 at Heritage Auctions in May 2025.
